environmental
initiatives
In
February 2006 the Vineyard Hotel & Spa was able to make significant
progress with their environmental program.
This initially began with the establishment of an Environmental
Committee manned by staff members from the hotel and chaired by
Chris van Zyl, the hotels Environmental Officer. Committee members
have been given portfolios such as secretary, treasurer, communications,
procurement, resources & technology, housekeeping, waste and
product & services. The committee has tried to involve all
departments by getting volunteer members onto the committee so
that they can monitor and initiate new environmental practices
in all areas of the Vineyard Hotel & Spa.
For more detailed information on our environmental initiatives

indigenous
gardens
Our drive has been to keep
the garden as indigenous as possible and in the last
four years the garden team has been actively working
towards this goal. All new planting is indigenous
and only organic compost is used. No harmful chemicals
are used in the garden.
