Myoga, situated in the beautiful Vineyard Hotel & Spa in Newlands, boasts a striking mountain view, complemented by an exquisite interior by top international designer Les Harbottle. The décor has been carefully created to ensure an ambience that is welcoming and relaxed. The restaurant, which showcases a contemporary global fusion cuisine, opened its doors in 2007 and was quickly voted into the Top 100 New Restaurants in the World by Conde Naste Traveller. Myoga (which means ginger blossom) was so named to fit the mould of Mike Bassett’s other award winning restaurants - Ginja and Shoga.
Mike Bassett is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and has won many South African awards, including numerous Eat Out Top 10 awards as well as 5 star chef awards and Restaurant of the Year by House and Leisure Magazine for Ginja.

Myoga offers a fusion cuisine menu which entices the mind, excites the eye and tantalises the taste buds to new extremes. It is what Mike Bassett calls an “east meets west” menu as we cross a multitude of cultures and flavours. In addition, the restaurant is currently offering a 6 course Winter Special at R150 per head. Wine packages (between R100 – R200), constructed by sommelier Carl Habel, offer the opportunity to enjoy some of South Africa’s finest wines with the Winter Menu.
Myoga has an extensive winelist, winning a Diners Club International Platinum Best New Entry for Winelist of the year 2008 and a Diamond Diners Club International Award. We also boast our own private cellar, which seats a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 16 guests. The cellar offers a quaint ambience, with a dimly lit chandelier hanging from a low ceiling, candlelight and soft background music.

Lunch caters for local and international guests alike, and offers an outdoor dining experience beneath the idyllic backdrop of the Vineyard gardens and Table Mountain. Lunch also caters for the local corporate market and is a casual yet sophisticated affair.
