Myoga restaurant, situated in the beautiful Vineyard Hotel & Spa in Newlands, boasts a striking mountain view, complemented by an exquisite interior by top international designer Les Harbottle. The décor has been carefully created to ensure an ambience that is welcoming and relaxed. The restaurant, which showcases a contemporary fusion cuisine, opened its doors in 2007 and was quickly voted into the Top 100 New Restaurants in the World by Conde Naste Traveller. Mike Bassett is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and has won many South African awards, including numerous Eat Out Top 10 awards as well as 5 star chef awards and Restaurant of the Year by House and Leisure Magazine. Myoga has achieved another accolade 2011 Fodor Choice Distinction Award "One of the world's top establishments selected by the most discerning of travel experts".
Myoga (which means ginger blossom) offers a fusion cuisine menu which entices the mind, excites the eye and tantalises the taste buds to new extremes. It is what Mike Bassett calls an “east meets west” menu as we cross a multitude of cultures and flavours. In addition, the restaurant offers a signature 7 Course Menu at R265 per head, with 5 options per course. Myoga has an extensive wine list, winning a Diners Club International Platinum Best New Entry for Wine List of the year 2008 and a Diamond Diners Club International Award. We also boast our own private cellar, which seats a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 16 guests. The cellar offers a quaint ambience, with a dimly lit chandelier hanging from a low ceiling, candlelight and soft background music.
Lunch caters for local and international guests alike, and offers an outdoor dining experience beneath the idyllic backdrop of the Vineyard gardens and Table Mountain. Lunch also caters for the local corporate market and is a casual yet sophisticated affair.
