The Vineyard supports the adoption of a meaningful and transparent free-range egg standard that will ensure the worst forms of animal cruelty are eradicated from their egg supply chain.

The Townhouse Hotel is to close on 31 March 2021, marks the end of an era in Cape Town hospitality history.
“We could not have imagined the impact that Covid would have on the global tourism industry, the extended impact this has had on South Africa’s hospitality sector and our family business particularly. As a result, we made the difficult decision to close the hotel.”

You may have seen in recent media reports that one of the cricket players tested positive for Covid19 on Thursday, 3 December. The following day, at our routine testing, two of our staff members tested positive.

In mid-November 2019, we were thrilled to receive the news that The Vineyard had been awarded a four-star water rating! The water star ratings are awarded by the city to promote best practices in water management, conservation and pollution control. The assessment looks at effluent management, how water is used on site, the measures in place to reduce dependence on municipality-supplied drinking water, etc.

When the manor house was built, there were almost 22 000 vines at The Vineyard, hence the name.
