In mid-November 2019, we were thrilled to receive the news that The Vineyard had been awarded a four-star water rating!
The water star ratings are awarded by the city to promote best practices in water management, conservation and pollution control. The assessment looks at effluent management, how water is used on site, the measures in place to reduce dependence on municipality-supplied drinking water, etc. Points are awarded for regular leak detection and repair, meter auditing, awareness programmes, low or zero effluent discharge and use of rainwater, boreholes, treated effluent and greywater etc.
