December wine tastings

3rd December, Ses’fikile Wines

Founded in 2006, Ses’fikile means “we have arrived”. It is a fascinating story of celebration, discovery, and triumph, where knowledge and expertise form the basis of the enterprise. Driven by partnerships, collaborations and a continued sense of curiosity, founder Nondumiso Pikashe works with a passionate team to produce Ses’fikile’s elegant, fruit-driven Cabernet Sauvignon, a rare blend of Shiraz and Cinsault, and international-award-winning Chenin Blanc/Roussanne blend.

10th December, Kaapzicht Wine Estate:

The Steytlers of Kaapzicht makes wines exactly as they would like to drink them: “full-bodied, round and fruity wines, with a good structure, well-integrated tannins, and a long finish”. Kaapzicht’s entry-level wines regularly win Wine Magazine’s Best Value for Money awards, while the premium wines under the Steytler name have won multiple international awards, including the Decanter International Trophy for the Best Single Red Varietal Wine in the World.

17th December, Thembeka Njena showcases Simonsig wines

Thembeka joined The Vineyard in 2013 as a member of the breakfast team. Her interest in wine led to a move to dinner service and educational stints at Klein Constantia and Graham Beck. She subsequently passed her international Wine and Spirits Education Trust examination with flying colours and participated at the Distell Inter-hotel challenge, which promotes young upcoming wine stewards and chefs. Join Thembeka tonight to learn more about the award-winning wines of Simonsig.

Tastings are from 18h00 – 19h00 every Monday, year round, and are staged at our Garden Lounge. We look forward to seeing you there!
