October wine tastings
7th October: Bruce Jack Wines
Bruce Jack Wines are crafted for “complexity, character, balance, intrigue, yumminess and nuance at a ‘Lifestyle’ price point”. Over his 25 years as an award-winning wine maker, Bruce became convinced that whether a consumer is tasting wine from a famous vineyard or a blend from the supermarket, their satisfaction will be based on their perception of its value. “The best brands value the land, they value their vineyards and those they buy grapes from, which means they value the people who work the land and care for the vineyards. And this is where value starts for us as well,” he says.
14th October: Nuy Winery
Nuy Winery, at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, was founded in 1963 and built on one cornerstone: Quality. The Nuy cellar masters have vast experience from wine regions across the world including France, Germany, Australia and America. Years of wine-making experience, untapped natural resources, time and patience brings out the best in every bottle of Nuy wine. Their goal is to produce wine of true character, bottle after bottle. They purposely run a limited operation in order to ensure that every part of the wine-making process is done under a watchful and experienced eye.
21st October: : De Trafford Winery
De Trafford Winery produces quality wines that convey the personality and uniqueness of their mountain vineyards above Stellenbosch and in the Helderberg. Expect wines with highly concentrated, balanced flavour from naturally low yielding vines. David Trafford, owner & winemaker, worked as an architect until 1994 when he followed his heart, marring Rita, aqualified chef & aspiring artist, and turned to his other love, wine-making. Living in the middle of the vineyard, close to the winery, they watch over all aspects of the business.
28th October: Jordan Wine Estate
Jordan Wine Estate has been making world-class wines since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years and soils that have evolved from 600-million-year-old Cape Granite. The Jordan hillside vineyards face north, south, east and west, boasting views of Table Mountain, False Bay and Stellenbosch and benefiting from coastal fog and cool breezes. These natural assets are combined with innovative management, creating a profound expression of terror and fiercely individual wines that combine the fruity accessibility of the New World with the classic elegance of the old.
Tastings are from 18h00 – 19h00 every Monday, year round, and are staged at our Garden Lounge. We look forward to seeing you there!
