The gun for the Two Oceans marathon and the half goes off just down the road and around the corner from us in Newlands. So we’ve always felt part of this wonderful event.
Whether you’re carbo loading for Saturday’s trail run or relay or gearing up for Sunday’s half or full marathon, join us for our Pasta Dinner on Friday, 19 April, and for our Pre-Race Breakfast Buffet on Saturday. (Supporters are more than welcome.)
Friday’s dinner kicks off with a selection of crunchy salads (Caesar or Greek). Mains are Chef’s delicious pasta sauces on your choice of linguini, penne or gnocchi: slow-cooked beef bolognaise with herbs and fresh parmesan; broccoli, feta, chili, lime, cashew nuts and roasted vine tomatoes tossed in olive oil; and mushroom alfredo with parmesan cream and parsley. (You can add bacon or chicken to the veggie options, if you prefer.)
Finish off with some carbs: chocolate brownie with vanilla pod ice cream, or baked cheesecake with seasonal berries and passionfruit ice cream.
Main course R125, any two courses R185, and three courses R245. From 18:30 onwards.
The pre-race breakfast buffet offers an array of cereals (garnish with dried fruit and nuts to your heart’s content) and muesli, as well as warm oats with cinnamon butter and honey. We’ll also have loads of fresh fruit, including bananas (grab one for the race!), Bulgarian yoghurt, fruit yoghurt and berry compote.
For extra protein, help yourself to the cheese and cold meat platters.
