The Vineyard’s New Year’s Eve feast is legendary, and this year will be no different.
The five courses are a breath-taking celebration of the ingredients afforded to chefs in our country – from a springbok fillet and quinoa tabbouleh with aubergine and biltong, diners will move on to saffron crab croquette and tiger prawn with West Cost mussel cream. An intriguing peppered strawberry palate cleanser then prepares the way for noisette of lamb with truffled mousse, mustard seed wafer, minted pea puree and fondant potatoes… And the climax just before midnight is celebratory chocolate raspberry dulche, with chocolate mousse cone and popcorn ice cream.
The vegetarian menu is no less inviting. Think cucumber gazpacho with tomato terrine and goat’s cheese mousse; potato and mushroom galette, wild mushrooms, roasted capsicum, minted pea puree, fondant potatoes, baby carrots and tarragon mousseline… Delicious and creative!
