Our spacious Conference Centre is one of South Africa’s few “green” venues, offering guests a beautiful setting, with modern, multi-purpose facilities and a highly experienced events-coordinating team. Our Conferencing and Events Manager, Robyn van Oudtshoorn, shares trends she has picked up from a few recent events held at the hotel.

Says Robyn, “We’re noticing that while there are still half-day functions dotted throughout our calendar, in general the conferences we are hosting seem to be multi-day events, from two to four days.” With many conferences spanning the whole day, from 08h00 to 17h00, we do try and keep delegates inspired and focused with a selection of delicious snacks and treats – recent favourites include cinnabuns with cream cheese frosting, Cape Malay doughnuts, cupcakes and pinwheels.

The most popular set-up still seems to be ‘banquet’ style, followed by the classic U-shape. “While these are the preferred styles requested by guests, we are able to accommodate almost any set-up,” comments Robyn. Round tables, groups or clusters, the events team encourages hosts to think outside the box when it comes to arranging their event.

Regarding numbers, the hotel’s conference center has recently hosted from 10 – 180, showing that no event is too big – or too small – for this dedicated team.
