A short drive transports you into the heart of Cape Town where you are able to access all the most sought after attractions that the city has to offer.
Cape Town City
A 10-minute drive into the city centre offers some 50 top tourist experiences ranging from exploring flavours in restaurants on Kloof Street and Long Street to shopping at unique local stores and the well-known Green Market Square. Cultural sights include the Cape of Good Hope Castle, Slave Lodge, and the Natural History, District 6, Jewish, Bo-Kaap and Gold of Africa museums, as well as the SA National Gallery, and the Dutch Company Gardens.
Waterfront & Robben Island
The V&A Waterfront has many attractions including the Two Oceans Aquarium, a large shopping complex, and a ferry to infamous Robben Island. Catch an open-top bus to hop around Cape Town or view the entire city from the top of the Ferris Wheel, take a cruise, helicopter ride or visit the South African Rugby Museum, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art or the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. Table Mountain
A dizzying 1085 m ascent via cable car transports you to the summit of one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the modern world, Table Mountain, with 360-degree views of the Peninsula and overlooking Lion’s Head and Signal Hill. Vineyard founder Lady Anne is said to have been the first European woman to scale its heights.
Peninsula Coastline
The Peninsula coastline boasts breathtaking scenic beauty. A circular route (just off the hotel) takes one past the False Bay seaside hamlets of Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town to fabled Cape Point. It returns, past the wide Atlantic beaches of Noordhoek and over precipitous Chapman’s Peak Drive to the fishing village of Hout Bay, coming back to the hotel through the famous Winelands of the Constantia Valley.
Stellenbosch Winelands
A 60-minute drive from the hotel takes you to the Cape Winelands and 150 historic wine estates near Stellenbosch – Africa’s Wine ‘capital’, university town and its second-oldest settlement. A day excursion is a chance to sample top vintages (perhaps at one of the Vineyard’s iconic wine partners), view unique Cape Dutch architecture and to enjoy the many authentic joys of the Cape countryside.
